FAQ

Ceramic or Graphene coatings are my product of choice for MOST cars.

Let me explain.  A Ferrari F40 or Enzo is not a candidate for a ceramic coating in my opinion.   Are you leaving it outside in the rain in the Bloomingdales parking lot?  Taking it skiing?  Leaving it to bake in the sun on a summer day in the Greenwich train station parking lot?   The answer to these questions is very likely “no”.   Reason for this is should you need to correct the paint, the ceramic has to be polished off.  (I can strip wax or SiO2 with a wash)  In this process you are removing paint.  If you’ve looked, you can see the carbon fiber through the paint of an F40.    While possible, and I’ll do it, my first recommendation is an SiO2 spray.  6 months of life and easier to remove should additional polishing be required.

I love them.  And Ill likely use one on parts of your car like glass and wheels.   I also use SiO2 booster sprays in my maintenance washes.   They add a very slick surface and prolong the life of the ceramic coating.

There is a lot of preparation required to get a car ready for ceramic coating.   Installation of the coating takes some time as well as you cant apply it to the entire car and remove like you can a wax or sealant.   I apply a coating to 1 or two panels at a time, allow it to flash, then level the surface.

All of the towels and applicators used in this process much be either thrown away, or used for interior or utility use after as the ceramic hardens in the fibers of the towels.

Yes.

My washes are equivalent to what others call a detail.  It will take me 1.5 hours to complete a BMW X3 for example.  I clean the engine, wheel wells, door jambs, you name it.  I also provide additional protection at the end to give the service a little longevity.   Many of my customers have cars that cannot go into a tunnel wash.  This is a post correction or post ceramic coating service.

Maybe

If your garage has space and there is adequate shade outside for a wash.  I will go to storage facilities and set up camp.  There are a lot of equipment and chemicals to carry around and working in a controlled environment produces the best results.

Maybe

For an existing customer, sure.  I can do a “quick” clean up on your insert car here.  I don’t offer the same services a mobile wash and detail company does.

I do this for my love of cars and to satisfy my OCD.
